DFAC's Fun with Tuna Trip

1.5 BAD DAY TO BE A TUNA TRIP

Wow. To say we killed it would be an understatement. Best Cattle boat trip the DFAC has had in recent memory!! On the Condor out of Fisherman's Landing in SD with 20 other anglers and limited the boat with Yellow Fin in about 2hrs. Then on to the Blue Fin. Skipper put us on the finicky bastards three times. 12 on the boat 3 for the DFAC's bag. Richie popped his BF cherry with a 70lbs class toad on 20lbs test. Bryant boated his first Yellow Fin. All good 30lbs class YF. Light gear with floro leaders and Katie Perry flat falls won the day. Proud of the boys. My work here is done!

image60

First Blue Fins For The Big Guy

Richie crushed it with 2 fat boys. One running about 70ish and one on 20lbs test. Atta boy!!

image61

Bryant's First YF's

Killer day of firsts as Bryant breaks the Yellow Fin glass.

image62

Dirty Lil Blue Fin

It's his fault for being so delicious.

image63

We Can't NOT Catch Fish!!

Hardly time to take a pic for the site and Bronco's hooked up again!! Gettin' it!!!

Cabo Baby!

image64

Cabo 2019

4th annual DFAC man trip. God bless our wives for understanding our affliction. Cabo San Lucas 2019 did not disappoint. Dorado's and 6 Marlin made for 55lbs of steaks in the fridge. Our skipper on the Cowboy put us on the fish all weekend as usual. Carlos runs about 10 boat out of the harbor and always takes care of us. Our brother Antonio was on vacation but still hooked us up around town and we hooked him up with a 25lbs Dodo. Epic adventure as always. We were able to celebrate Dougie and Richies birthdays with cherry-poppin Striped Marlin hook ups. Ahhhhhh, and my work here is done!

image65

Frogmen

Can't do everything from the deck, sometimes you need to get up close and personal with your prey. Two tank dives at Lands End, Neptune's Finger and Pelican Rock were truly amazing. Frogman #1 (Bronco), Frogman #2 (Dougie), Frogman #3 (Rob) were bubble blowing badasses at 75.8' and in 82 degree water. Visibility was crystal!!

image66

Dodo-a-Gogo

Dodo's were popping but the Marlin were outta control. Nothing like spotting that spike, turning on him and then seeing him turn into our spread. Boom! Hitting ballyhoo's and psychedelics. Sweet dancing Marlin video to come!! Marlin sashimi from Mr Miyagi at The Usual Suspects was off the hook!! Literally.

image67

A Powerful Thirst

And sometimes the DFAC needs a tasty beverage to wash down that delicious fish. Ok, maybe we went too big on this one but when it's two for one happy hour in the pool at Cabo Azul ya gotta go big or go home. We might have frightened the kids with this display but it was a good primer for our beach volleyball tournament! Fishin makes you thirsty.
